The Animal House

The Animal Facility of the May Institute of Pharmacology of the Polish Academy of Sciences has received certification for performing animal research through the decision of the Minister of Science and Information Technology #612005 from 17.10.2005.

The Krakow Poviat Veterinary Inspectorate performs oversight of the animal housing and breeding conditions for the purposes of conducting basic and applied research. All experimental procedures involving animals require the approval of the corresponding Local Ethics Committee. A qualified veterinarian and an internal animal welfare committee independently monitor the well-being of all animals at least once a week.
